A Machinery's handbook for the aviation mechanic. Good value at the price and to be throughly recommended. Read more. Helpful. Comment Report abuse. K Baid. out of 5 stars had a flick through before handing it over and is a great little reference book. Reviewed in /5(). Aviation structural mechanics may be assigned to sea or shore duty any place in the world, so their working environment varies considerably. They may work in hangars or hangar decks, or outside on flight decks or flight lines at air stations. A high noise level is a normal part of their work environment. AMs work closely with others, do mostly.

Chapters 1, 2, and 3 consist of brief definitions of hand tools, machine and power tools, and sheet metal operations--all of which are important to an Aviation Structural Mechanic.

Chapters 4, 5, and 6 deal with aircraft metals--their properties and treatment. A core reference for mechanics, aircraft owners, and pilots, this book compiles specifications from numerous reference books and government publications into one handy, toolbox-size reference guide.

Revised to reflect current specifications, it provides mechanics with all the reference information critical to maintaining aircraft, including the most frequently used measurements, scales, charts, and diagrams/5().

The Aviation Maintenance Technician Handbook-Airframe (FAA-HA) is one of a series of three handbooks for persons preparing for certification as an airframe or powerplant mechanic. It is intended that this handbook provide the basic information on principles, fundamentals, and technical procedures in the subject matter areas relating to the airframe rating.
